Default I suck at driving my car!!!

Went to the track last night and made a couple of passes. I'm pretty disappointed with my times.

R/T .537
60' 2.188
1/8 8.553 @ 88.25
1/4 12.932 @ 115.65

I know my 60' times need to come down. I'm running Pirelli P7000 Supersport street tires at about 28lbs. of pressure.

Also, I was granny shifting because I'm afraid of breaking the "bulletproof" stock rearend. How much time would I cut by power shifting?

The car dynoed at 387hp/373tq. It has a Lingenfelter top end kit with their GT2-3 cam. Mac midlengths, ORY, Borla, Cutout, LS6 intake, TR6's, Ported TB, Lid, Eibach Springs, BMR LCA's, Subframes, Strut Tower, Panhard.

I know I should be running much faster times especially with that MPH. What advice do you have other than further modifying the car such as suggesting drag radials, etc... and what times do you think its capable of with more practice and better driving. This was only my second time at the track.

I do have video footage of the run, but don't know how to post it.

12.9 @ 115.6..wow. You should be able to get away with coming out of hte hole a little quicker. Even on street tires and stock rear I'd be aiming for at least a 2.0 60'.
I don't think that shifting more aggessively will hurt the rear end. They are usually beat on at launch. I could be on that, I am an auto guy after all.

I can host your video if you want. Send it to DougRamey@comcast.net

Dont sweat the slow times. At least you didnt break anything. THe 'good stick drivers' seem to go to 2-3 trans a season. Any monkee can powershift. It takes skill to powershift without breaking anything.

Good mph btw

Thanks for offering to the host the video, maybe someone can watch and give me some pointers. I'll figure out how to zip the file and get it sent over to you.

Also, can someone give me a quick explanation of how trap speeds and quarter mile times relate? I've noticed a lot of guys have quicker 1/4 mile times with much slower trap speeds, but their 60' times are only a couple of tenths faster than mine. I'm just curious how all of that fits together.

I'll definitely be heading to the track as often as possible to get more practice. What certain things should I look/feel for when racing?

Great picture btw...I love seeing f-bods pulling the front tires up!
