Default What might I gain, 3.73's to 4.56's

Right now the truck NA runs 11.95 with a 1.67 60'... It has 3.73's with a 30x14.50 ET street, 4,400 verter (flashes to 4,900 NA). I think there is a little more in it as it unloads the tires a touch at the top of the suspension as the shock is too soft. This combo has me traping at 112mph (6,950 locked verter in second or 7,400 unlocked in second).

By my math, the 4.56's with a 30" tire will allow me to run 132mph unlocked 145mph locked (9% slip). I figure the truck to have high 120 / low 130 in it on the 2 stage hit.

If you had to put a number on it, what gains should I see with a gear swap?
Should I go that steep?
Perhaps steeper?

I will take a guess: 11.70's to 11.60's in the heat. Just a guess now.

What RPM are you running @ at the end of the Traps?? Thats a Big stall... But I am sure the truck has some LBS

I trap... 112 with m vette (12.20)... however it weighs 3150 (w/o me) 210lbs... with a 3.36 gear and 3000 stall ...

Im shifting into 3rd when I hit the LIGHT !!

Curently with the 3.73's and the 30" tire 6,950 in second gear with a locked converter or 7,400 unlocked in second gear.

I'm running 4.56s and 30" tires. It's about the same as 3.73s with a 6 speed from what a figured. The tires are going to expand a little bit though so you will gain a little more mph top end.

I'll take a stab and say you might drop 1/2 second. Thats a pretty major step in gear.
