Paul Majors Updates Revelead
Thought you guys might like to see what was up with Paul Majors for 2009. We just a news release on him. I posted it in full here:
In a exciting announcement from LSX TV and CorvetteMajor.com we are pleased to bring you the upgrades that Paul has been making in the off season. With safety more apparent than ever Paul knew that some upgrades were in store for his Corvette drag radial car. With the loss of his chassis builder and friend Leo Barnaby he needed to find someone who was familiar with the drag radial class and stock type suspensions.
Paul searched around and found exactly what he was looking for at DMC Racing. Dennis came highly recommended from other competitors and with a great track record the choice was easy. Everyone who knows Paul and his team knows how they like to push the car to the extreme limit. One thing that was evident was that they needed to take all safety measures possible . The car went 208mph last season and the NHRA mandates that a full floater rear be used when speeds exceed 210. That was the first measure of business for Dennis and he looked the car over for anything that may need to be changed. He suggested that the car have a few bars added to the rear section as well as an additional fire system for the transmission tunnel and front coil overs. DMC also fitted the chassis for a new Rossler Turbo Glide, mid plate and motor plate.
The next stop is NRG Tech Racing where Chris and Tom will be making some modifications to the turbo plumbing to incorporate new lightweight exhaust housings and a new intake manifold. In the final stages the car will stop by American Racing Headers for a completely new set of headers with a few other modifications. The last stop will be Thrift Way Auto Body for some minor touchups. The Warhawk engine is being completely freshened by Rich at PCHS and making a few tweaks along the way.
Job Spetter Jr. is on board and has been assisting the Major crew every step of the way. They are very adament about breaking into the six second zone this year. Paul and Job are very confident that it can be done with the current setup. Major’s Corvette is surely unique with its trunk mounted turbos and being the only C5 Corvette in Outlaw Drag Radial. One thing we have learned is that Paul is a true gentleman racer by his generous donations of his winnings to the Jenna Barnaby college fund after winning Orlando. We here at LSXTV wish Paul and his crew all the best this coming season and can not wait to see him back in action. Want to learn more about Paul’s car? Be sure to visit his website.
