4" bullet?

4" bullet?
Is anyone running a 4" bullet right off the y? If so how does it sound and how loud is it?
Right now I have the mufflex y and the mufflex 4" exhaust into a hooker aero chamber. It is not loud at all. Looking for something a little lighter and louder.
The mufflex complete set up is 67lbs

I'm running a 3" DP merged up to a 4" pipe at the firewall, 4" bullet in the stock cat location with 4" pipe back to the rear seat with it exiting turned down/out there. It's not unbearable, but the turbo helps a lot. I had the same setup on my last car that was N/A with a big cam and it was pretty dang loud. The problem you're gonna have is how droney the 4" pipe is, it will seem louder because its deeper and resonates more inside the car because of this.

I had a LM1 welded off a stock 'Y' for a friend and a 2' section of 3" back from that. Stops right at the axle. Sounds similar to my SLP LM2 out the back when he's getting on it but surprisingly a tad tame normal idle/low throttle.

Mine might sound a little different because it is an LT1, but here are some vids of when I had headers/ORY/Dumped Bullet off the Y...
Sorry nothing up close, but you can still make out the sound, and as for being in the car, yes it was loud, but not too bad. My wife liked the sound of that combo better that the cutout system I was using prior, this has a more deep and rich tone...

I had that same setup GetaV8, it's going to be LOUD.
You could try a spiral flow muffler. I'm running a pair off the collector on the headers and it's surprisingly quiet. Granted I'm an SI car.
BTW, your clean ride is an inspiration!

Thanks Bain
Yes, I have turn downs so the exhaust flows outward and not under the car. Helps with the smell.
I would have kept the same setup with a quieter muffler if I could have. The torque arm cross member prevents that though.

On the drivers side we tried to fit a bullet and it would basically be an inch or two off the ground. This is what I originally wanted to do. But it will be too low.

How close would you say it was to open header? I don't mind loud it is a play toy car not a daily driver, I am just worried about tooo extreme where the cops are hasseling me.
