Will the Eaton Posi hold....
being dumped at 6k rpm on the track? Car makes 430rwhp h/c/i. How long do you think it will hold up? Also, what about throwing a 100-150 shot at it?
If I were to do it again....I would not get the rearend that I have........but I also did this back in 2003. How easy is it to change to a spool on a Moser 12 bolt? What kind of cost am I looking at?
Thanks and sorry for all the questions.
Mike

Spool is an easy swap in a 12 bolt, I did that last year. I did have an eaton posi in the car, and it held up to probably 100 bottom 12 second passes (stick cam only car, 3700 lbs) as well as over 100 mid 10 second passes off a transbrake/footbrake launch n/a, then some 9 second nitrous passes as well.
It will hold up better then the tru-crap's do by far, but a spool is a good piece of mind. Easy swap, pull the axles, pull the posi unit out, pull the ring gear, put it on the spool. and reinstall. Measure the ring gear position for tooth mesh first, and then try to reposition via the shims to the exact same spot. Or, just put some new gears in while it's apart, then you don't have to mess with trying to reposition it the same, just have to get the pattern on the new ones right.
Good time to adjust gear ratio if needed as well.

Spool swap wasn't too bad. I did new gears, all new bearings at the same time, I think it was about 500 bucks in parts. But, you can sell the posi unit and old gearset for about 500 like I did and recoup alot of the cost.
IMO, take the posi out and sell it now before it's broke and worth nothing, and the upgrade will be cheap

Mine only seemed to hold up to about 50 mid 11's runs before it broke.I also went spool.
Not very street friendly but should hold up way better I hope. Seemed Fairly inexpensive to swap it over, even paying someone to do it.

If you have less then 33 spline axles then yes I would upgrade them to 33 spline, if you want to spend some big bucks, you can go to a 40 spline gun drilled star flanged axle, but honestly at your speed, I don't see that as nessassary. Plus, the gun drilled/star flanged axles for street use, I'm not too sure about that.

Is there a 35 spline Moser axle for the 12 bolt w/spool?
