Default Question about slicks

Ok, so I now have a set of MT slicks for my gp gxp, they are 26x11.5 17, they will be on 17x9 rims if that makes a difference.
My questions are,
what psi should I run in them as a geleral pressure? I know adjustment will be needed but want to know where to start, and rear tire pressure should be at the max?
Are race tubes necessary?
Also, is it benificial to race without a hood if I am able to?

Hood off would be a bad idea.

Car is FWD? if so the rears would be goot at 50psi.

The slicks I would start at 15 psi and adjust from there.
