Default New First time Track Times!!!!

Well i was racing at lacr... which is 2700 feet above sea level ... and that night had a DA of 2800 if iam correct... But anyways my very first run was my fastest run!!! My first time ever racing the car.. You people that race at LACR know that the track prep is horrible so the best 60' i could cut was a 2.4 that night which is pretty bad i know ... But i still hit a 13.707 @ 105.8 with a 2.4 60' ..... so corrected thats a 13.26@ 109.38 !!!! i think that those times are pretty good for my mods with the elevation and a 2.4 60' .... Tell me what ya'll think !!!!!!

Nice for your first time out there. LACR is deffinately the slowest track i've ever run at. My first run in the camaro ever was at LACR 2.5 60', 1.5 reaction time, 15.5. After about 4 more runs i whittled it down to 13.9. I think my best ever factory stock at LACR was 13.7x. I went up to on the 1st for hangover with the mods in my signature and was only able to get a best 1/8 mile of 8.7x. Two weeks later at Irwindale i ran an 8.0 1/8 still spinning a bit out of the hole. Don't be too dissapointed running at LACR, most people in LS1 cars i talk to up there tell me they run at least 5 tenth better in the 1/4 anywhere else.

All the other f-bods there were running 14.0-14.3's i was the only on there that night is the 13's ... there was a 98' or up WS6 also a Z28 98' or up both had exhaust .... best z28 time was 14.0 at 97 ... so it was a bad night ... and i still hit what i hit .... so i say i did pretty damn good ...... there was an 03' cobra that was bone stock on nitto's that hit a 13.3 at 104 something i trapped higher then he did !!!

That track is a horsepower drain. On top of that traction sucks. Every time i was up there i was in the high 13 to low 14 range. Go run your car at Irwindale. Take your 1/8 mile time and multiply by 1.55, its actually a pretty accurate calculation from what i've seen, within a 5 hundreths give or take.

I feel for you guys having to run at LACR. Use to run there in my 'stang days.

Work on that 60ft and you'll get much faster. Sticky tires are your friend

good first times, with a 2.0 60 foot you'll probably hit the 13.20s without the correction factor! Get some stickies and keep practicing

Tires will put you into the 12's.

BTW, what's up with posting "corrected" numbers in your sig. If you didn't run the number, you didn't run the number.

Pick up some DR's, cut a 1.8 60' and welcome to the 12's.

I agree that sig should show what the time slip indicated... (Change it)
Seriously, even at the higher altitude figuring a 1.5 gain in ET for every .1 drop in 60' would subtract 6 tenths. So with the same mph, and a 2.0 60' time you should run 13.10@105ish. On a track closer to sea level @109 mph with the same 2.0 60' time subrtact 4 tenths for the gained 4 mph(roughly) and most likely see 12.70@109. Don't look at my sig as a comparison due to the fact I short shifted on that run. I should be runnin 12.40's. We'll see as soon as the tracks open back up, Fred
