my car runs around 3k@55 mph with stock gear set th400, 4.11's and 28" tires. i think top speed with the 4.11's and 28's is around 142 mph.

I got a TH400 WITH 4.11s and a 28inch tire. 55 mph is around 3300 rpm. Its also gonna depend on what converter you use too. Mines fairly loose.

All I can say for street use is to make sure you can monitor temps and run a good cooler. If I wanted a NO O/D trans, this would be the one and I would do exactly this.

I have a mustang with a th400 and 4.11 gears. It has a 325/50 drag radial on it right now. But It had a 28" tire on it the last two years and I drove it on the street around town a bunch.
I could roll 45-50 pretty easy but much more than than it was turning about 3500+ rpm's. I go on true street drive's in the lsx shootout and it does fine.

What type of rpm's are you running at crusing about 65 with your 325/50? Thanks

28s and a 4.11 is a good combo. I will spin about 2800-3000 rpm at 55 mph

x2 on this question. I have thought about doing a 4.10 but i also have a 50 sidewall (275/50's to be axact) and i still drive it alot on the street. I figured the 4.10 would be too much on the street with this tire and i plan on running the 275/50's for a while. Ill probly just stick with the stock 3.42's
