Default which cam gets low 1/4 numbers

i am about to start building my ls1 for my 68 firebird, and i have been goin back ad forth on if i want the car to be stealthy or not, and i have finally come to the desicion that i want people to hear the power of the ls this motor will be a cam only car for the longest of time, so i was hoping that some of the guys around hear that i have seen and tried a few cams could give me some help. i dont want a terribly loud lope, this is gonna be a daily driver, so i want the power under the curve maybe a lil higher than stock. i do want it to lope a lil tho i will also be running a yank 3500 plus all the bolt on's and i want to beable to get the lowest times possible. so what cam will give me about what in the 1/4? thank you

I have a buddy that runs a 224 cam with long tubes, y-pipe without cats, a Loud Mouth and two little bullets and it sounds nice. With a nice tune there is just about zero cam lope and it's really well mannered.

BTW, with LS1 ported heads he made something like 410rwhp 405rwtq

g5x3 has plenty under the curve...if you want a little more under the curve but not as much high up you might want to try the g5x3

If low ET's is your goal, you gotta consider suspension to put that power to the ground. Just a cam won't do it. From front to back, it all works together. But i'm sure you knew that already.

hey i have it all thought out. my front fenders and wheel wells are gonna be fiberglass. i am getting a set of caltracs for the rear leaf springs along with a set of 50/50's. the front will most likely be a 60/40, but i was kinda considering the 70/30's. and then there is this company that makes a set of "lift bars" that replace the oem ones and they are designed to relocate the suspension center point of the car. and with all that backed up by either a pair of et streets or slicks and i should be aight lol. but yea any more thoughts on a cam?

The FMS F4 cam is a nice stick. You can get it in a 114 LSA for a fairly smooth idle too. I'll be running this cam after I hit my 11.5 bolt on pass.
