Default ET streets 16X26X10.5 what psi for 405rwhp/365.5rwtq?

ET streets 16X26X10.5 what psi for 405rwhp/365.5rwtq?

I did some 1/8 mile passes tonight and they are not much better than back when I had 305rwhp/?rwtq.

Back then 305rwhp 3000 midwest converter 16lbs tire pressure
1.798 60'
5.143 330'
7.947 1/8

Now with 405rwhp/365rwtq Yank SS4000 converter 12lbs tire pressure
1.81 60'
5.0773 330'
7.812 1/8

Am I dragging my tires down the track because of not enough pressure? Is my power enough to pull them through the 1/8?

I'm confused. Please excuse my greenness. I am new to this.

I run mine at 15-16 psi, but that's on a leaf spring car. You want to run as high psi as possible without spinning, it means less drag going down the track. your 60 foot times should be much better than what you're getting, but maybe that's just me.

Good luck!

You have to heat those suckers up! Second gear burnout till they bite. Are they screwed to the rim? Use polich to markl the tire and rim and see if they are turning on the rim. I always go 12psi cold (about 15 psi hot) with the six speed and a 5000-6500rpm dump (depending on track prep)

12 psi hot for max traction. BUUUUUURNOOOOUUUUT!!! Most people don't get 'em hot enough.

Old tires suck. Some tracks suck...and this you can't do much about. I find on TNT night, the first half hour is the best. Then the track gets dirty and slick.

Run as much pressure as you can. I never ran mine below 18 and as high as 22. Was cutting 1.48 at full weight. Get em hot!!!!!!! More air- the more mph also.

At some tracks, running more PSI is just not an option no matter how well you heat the tires. But yeah, run as much pressure as you can WITHOUT spinning. If you spin despite all other efforts, you need to drop the pressure.

Im sticking but my times are way off. I should have 1.6 60's right? The question is am I hurting my times with 12psi? My tires are about 1 year old. Is that too old?

I am wondering if something is wrong with my tranny or converter since my times are so slow for my power level.

Your 60 ft got slower even though you added HP and a bigger converter. You are loosing it all on the launch.

My car seems to be doing the samething. I believe mine is from my soft hitting SY3500 convertor. I can feel when the car finally gets into it's powerband at about the sixty ft mark. The car just doesn't really take off. I don't know anything about your convertor if it is soft hitting or hard, but hope this might help. Good luck.

My car with h/c runs the same sixty ft that it did on stock motor. I also run the tires with 18 psi in them before the burnout. It just feels like I don't have enough converter to get me up into my powerband fast enough to sixty ft better.
