Default 2" narrowed rear question

I am switching over from a stock width 9" to a s60 that's narrowed 2" per side. Now I know if I was going by the stock backspacing on a 10" wheel I would need to get 5 1/2" spacing. Problem with that is that the car has full tubs and the tunnel has been expanded to slam it low and I know with the 5 1/2" spacing that the tire is going to be close to rubbing the 1/4 panel. Anyone have this set up and have any pictures or ideas on what kind of spacing im going to need to accomplish this? I currently have the rts wheels on the car and I am looking to buy the same just in a different size, I think the problem may be that they come in 1/2" increments for the spacing.

You might also look into some champion wheels, they are very silimar to the RT-S and can be done in any custom back spacing you want. They also come in non, single and double bead lock, priceing is great.

3.25" to 7" rear wheel backspace (quarter sizes available)\

On a side note, my car had 2" narrowed rear and I had 5.5" back spacing on 10" RT-S wheels. I had no problems with it. stock tubs and BFH mod for the 295/55/15 radials.

If you look at that pic there is no way you are gonna tuck that tire a couple inches though.

Maybe I don't understand your question, but with a 2" narrow and 5.5 bs, your tires are going to set in the stock location. They are not going to tuck in any or out any.

When mine was mini-tubbed & the rear narrowed 2" on each side I had (still have for sale) 10.5" X 30" Hoosier radials on custom 12" Bogarts, with 5.5" bs and they did not rub at all. They for very well. I would separate and sell the wheels alone if somebody wanted them. Also still have those 31 spline axels & posi.

rene go back and reread the original post, I am wanting them to sit in a bit closer so I can slam the car. I know 5.5 would put them in the stock location. ed, what bogarts are they and do you have any pics? im not opposed to stretching a 275 on a 12" wheel. were you able to tuck them in the 1/4 panel? im looking to cover the top couple inches of the tire.

I took a picture to send another guy, but I don't know how to put them on here. It's in my phone. I can email it to you.

I figured I miss something. Sorry.
Would a 6" bs work?

Im assuming that something in that area will work. Problem being if I buy a rts they only come in half size so I would need a 6.5 and a 1/2 spacer. Im not looking to buy 4 new wheels so I was trying to stick with them.

you can pull it in like you want if the frame rails are notched... I tucked a tire with over 13 inches of section width.

2 inch narrow rear a 6 or 6.5 inch backspace should work on a 10 inch wide wheel. 12 inch wide you need a 8 or 8.5 to get there, never seen that one, mounting a tire would probably be a nightmare.

Fwiw I took 6 inches off mine and put a 5 inch backspace 15x12 on

Oh ok, then I guess the wheel change is the only option! Have you tried the 10" wheels and didn't like the look??

6 inch backspace is what ya want it will pull them in just enough to drop the car as low as you could want. You're going to need a good set of lca brackets to get the angle right though :-D

did you roll the lip right over? Mine is folder to itself, and I still have the stock wheel wells so I only have about 1 inch I bet, up inside the bottom of the lip till the tire hits. And it has on the street running the shocks looser comp. (rubs the dust a rubber off) I run it tucked 275s on 10 rims, but its never hit the 1/4.
But I also have steel strange rotors I bet there a little less then a 1/8th, thinner so on my stock width s60 i have a little more room if you wnat to be super tech. about it.

what brakes do you have? if not stock why the RTS? there kinda heavy you dont need them to clear drag calipers. I have a set of the champion and they do make them in 1/4 sizes. ( I have 15x10 stock 7.5 BS) If you wanted and it you have lots of inner room I would go 1/4 less.

Not sure what I'm not seeing here! If now you're 2" narrower per side and you have full tubs, you've pulled the wheels 2" in away from the quarter panel so you should be able lower as much as you want. Edit: I'm realising now that brakes are in stock location so wheels would hit, is this correct?

Guys the car is a 25.3 its not street driven and has drag brakes all the way around. I dont want to leave the 7.5 backspace because that would look retarded. Only reason I was looking at the rts wheels is because thats whats on the front and I didnt want to buy a full set. Gonna call champion about some beadlocks.
