Default 76" wide trailer good enough?

I'm looking at a Carson dove tail trailer with a wooden bottom, for around $1400 new. The problem is its only 76" wide. Seems like a tight fit to me. Anyone use a trailer that skinny? I guess I have to jump out the window after I load the car on?

I borrow a friend of mine trailer and I think its only 76". The car bairly fits on. I mean its tight man. If I hit it dean on the rear slicks about about 1-1 1/2" clearance on each side. If I get it off alittle it rubs against one tire. Yes, you will have to crawl out the windown or hatch unless you get the finder lowered/deck raised. The one I borrow made his finder swing up. That made it easy.

Thats too little room for error IMO. I use a 82 inch and its fine. 3 inches less per side would be damn tight.

My trailer is 6'6" wide on the inside. To get out of the car using the doors, I put additional boards where the tires ride. This gives me another 1.5" of clearance over the fenders. Course when I built the trailer, I lowered the fenders as much as possible over the tires to help that.

With that truck you're towing with, it probably needs to be 76" long. 76" wide is definitely narrow. I used to have a 16' flatbed that was 76" wide, and it was VERY close w/ the 15" Pro Stars w/ 10" ET Drags. Jason 98 TA could not get his T/A on it with the 28" ET Drags and 10" wide Pro Stars. I'm using an 18' steel-floor dove tail now that's 84" wide, and it's NICE. I can even open the door w/ plenty of room to spare, something I'm not used to. If you want to lock the car up and you don't have t-tops to get out, you can always crawl out the hatch. been there done that a few times
