Default Remove front swaybar ?

I need to shed some weight and improve my 60s. Do you guys feel removing the front sway bar does give better weight transfer? Whats the bar weigh? 15#s or so? Is it worth it?Thanks

Yes, removal of the front sway bar assists in the transfer of weight to the rear wheels and also weight on the car. You can drive your car almost anywhere without the front sway bar. I have been driving mine around for almost two years without one. The weight of the sway bar is around the 13 to 16 weight range. Cheers. <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />

Thanks Kent, did you see an improvement in your 60s after removing it? Anymore input would be welcome!

I did other mods to my car with I did the front sway bar removal--so I can't comment on what it did exactly for me. But I recommend you do it if you like to drag race. At first I did not want to do it, but after I did--I am glad I did. If your 60' time does not come down after this mod, do not be frustrated, but review this board and other cars similar to yours to see what they did. Fine tune your car to tires, tire air pressure, RPM launches, weight reduction upfront as much as possible for better weight transfer, and suspension upgrades. My best 60' on a auto is 1.602. Car has 3200 vig. , ET drags on convo pros air set at 16, Hals shocks front and back with front Hal drag springs, skinnies, launch around 1300 to 1500 RPM's. Also have metco lowered control arms with relocation brackets. Have randow technology TA with opinion set at -3. On Nittos my best 60' time was 1.63. For consistent sixties, I recommend a slick, but use what you want. Just sharing so more information for you. Kent.
