Default I got my Glasstek hood installed

It's the $250 Glasstek pin on hood (+$87 shipping). I mounted 4 Mr. Gasket. pins in the shock towers and plastic area in front of the lid. I still need to get the hood painted, but overall it looks pretty good. It even has the stock Z28 hood lines!

It's a bit heavier than you'd think it should be at 18#s total. It's a handful for me to take on and off myself, but with some more practice I'll get used to it. One nice thing is the car is really easy to work on now when you take the hood off. Overall its a 30# weight savings, and I expect to have around $400 total in it after paint.

Next week I'll start installing my new front brakes. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Better hit the gym Mr. Bugger.
Maybe someone will spot the bar with no weights on it for you. Thats a good starting point.

<Blush> Tim do you have a little crush on me? </Blush> Sorry Tim I don't go for guys with mediocre time slips. Maybe give JS a call? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

The problem with the hood is you can't hold both sides of it. You have to grab the front and then balance it on your other hand.

My VFN pin-on hood comes in right at 13lbs or so. It's a 2" cowl, not the flat stock style hood, but I don't think that makes any difference.

I agree, it is much easier to work on the car with a lift-off hood!

Terry are u going to any of the Events this yr.
Thunder,BG,MMRA etc.

There's a weight break at these events and I wanna see what your car will REALLY run at 3500lbs. I think your gonna say---->No I'm not attending any of them.

I saw your pic of the wheels up,looks good except for the COMPLETELY gutted interior showing threw on the pic.

3300lbs------>In FANTSY LAND.
Wouldve been even funnier if we couldve gotten a shot of the single nozzle hidden in your our bellows <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" /> :

Oh I have a new name for u too.

Terri,
I didn't think that the lightweight hood
was so hard to take off yourself? But then again you are a ******* with Breasts........

The fact is your car is more gutted than mine. The only reason you're heavier is because your fat. What am I supposed to do about that? If your big dollar setup made decent power you'd already have run 10s. My big dollar setup is in the works right now. LS6 heads, titanium valves, shaft mounted rockers, maybe a solid roller? (have not bought cam yet).

There is a big difference between I can't, and it's a hassle. The 18# lift off hood is a hassle.

Can u answer a question with an answer?

I need to finish school?Your sooo smart and
I'm sooo stupid.Hmmmm?

But who was the JACKASS that bought a truck for towing,Bragged how they were gonna tow with it and then came into another post and said how STUPID they were for buying it.

ANSWER---->U TERRY

So thats what college did for u.
Wow,U sure are smart. Professor.

Tony caught the same darn thing I and everyone else did,Your car is a gutted race car and u lied about it for months.Your ET has been tarnished in my eyes.Take the N20 off too and see what it runs.

So,are u comming to an Event Terry?
Make sure your Nitrous is off the car or u wont be able to race the N/A field.

I like this Event stuff,The min. weights are gonna show ALOT of folks who BS and who dont,

I still say, something tells me Terry and his MMS monster wont be at any of them.

JS

JS vs Terry will not be resolved until the two meet. Period. It's a shame that the distance precludes a convenient gathering.

Frankly, I like both JS and Terry. I'd die for the opportunity to meet both of "yall" at once <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Terry (serious),

Where did you put the front 2 pins? I can't picture it. Hopefully the front pins are connected to a metal part on the front of the car?

John, in the black fiberglass bars that run in front of the hood latch. I'll take some pictures when I get the hood painted (it looks like *** right now).

1) They are wrong, everyone at the track saw my stock carpet.
2) Even if it was out who cares? The car came in at 3340#s on the scales that day.
3) I post about every mod I do and the incremental differences.

You can ask the 25 people that saw my car at the MMS dyno day today what it looks like. It's not a full weight setup, but it looks good and is quiet, and I drive it everywhere.

And what's this about juice? My car hasn't had a bottle on it since I did heads/cam months ago.

</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I posted I wanted a $5000 truck for towing. I shopped around and decided I wanted a new truck that I could drive while the Z28 was apart and tow with a few times a year. I decided I wanted to spend under $17,500. I drove the V6 Ford, V6 Sierra, V6 Dodge, and the V6 S10. The V6 S10 was the most powerful of the three and came in way under my budget at $12,900. It was an easy choice for me. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

The truck is going to tow fine too. I've met so many people who tow their race cars to the track with V6 trucks its not funny. A lot of them use trucks with less power than I have too (I have a 4.3L, I've seen guys with 3.0L towing 5000#). If I discover I don't have enough power for my taste, I’ll throw some 4.10s and a $2000 5psi blower on it, but I don't expect any problems.

I'm all for being fair. If we have a weight limit then there has to be a 100# weight penilty for running LS6 heads, and a 100# weight penilty for running 4.56 gears, and another 100# for running over a 4400rpm stall.
