Question For Those With Wolfe Cage and Swing-Outs
Guys,
I recently had a Wolfe weld-in cage installed in my car. The swing-out bar on the driver's side rattles like crazy and is driving me nuts. I don't think that this should be the case and am going to take it up with my installer...Is this normal?
Also, has anyone with a Wolfe cage that was jig-notched ever had to have the door bars bent because they did not clear the inner door panels? The guy that installed my cage said that this was the case.
Thanks,
Scott

Re: Question For Those With Wolfe Cage and Swing-Outs
Scott, I have the bolt in Wolfe cage and it is a definitely a quality piece. I have 4 friends that have the same cage here locally. It is possible that there could have been a slight error in one of the bends. I can see that happening easily due to the tight clearance and route of the piping.I have not heard of any up to this point , but I am surprised. As far as the swing out goes, mine was actually too tight mainly from the powder coating so I had to clean around and sand it to slide easily. I would recommend making sure the bottom hinge bolt is very snug. I also added some home made plastic/nylon washers between the hinged bar and the bracket. I also added a wrap of black electrical tape to the top connection just to ensure no rattles would be present. Rattles drive me nuts. Good luck and keep your chin up. Now your legal and safe. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Re: Question For Those With Wolfe Cage and Swing-Outs
TXCAMSS,
Thanks for the info! I'm glad that the rattle is normal. The electrical tape is a great idea!!! I was trying to think of something that I could use there. I plan on getting some washers or grommets for the bottom.
I am going to have some sound-deadening stuff sprayed inside the car while it is apart if I can find someone to do it. I figure that the quiet will be worth the extra weight. If I want to go faster then I will just turn up the boost!
Thanks,
Scott
