Default Safe to remove heat shielding?

Is it safe to remove any of the heat shielding from under the car?

I'm thinking of removing it and replacing it with the adhesive reflective material. With a 1/2" air gap it's good up to 1500 degrees.

What does everyone think?

when i did my hooker lt install, i removed all of it 'cept for the stuff on the drivers side covering the fuel lines. 3000 miles and no problems at all
