Full Bolt Ons M6, 12.57 at 111.9, Whats wrong
Guys, I went racing last night and the whether was absolutely bueatiful (50% or so humidity, 65-70 degrees). My mods include FTRA, Lid, Ported Maf, Shaner S2 Throttle Body, LS6 intake (my car is an 01), hooker long tubes and a cutout. I went 12.57 at 111.9 with a 1.95 60. Why am I reading about all of these cars going much faster with the same boltons. I also put on convo pros which lost me fifty pounds (3350 without me in it) and have runn the same mph in 89% humidity and 95 degree heat. I think I need some tuning but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. The car is an 01 ss with the stock 3.42 rear.

That is pretty good and about right for your car. Most of the other cars you are talking about usually have alot more weight reduction or lower 60 foot times.

do gears and get the 60 down with some better tires and youll run low 12's. the quickest bolton only car is only like 11.80's so youre not too far off considering stock gear and not the best 60.

Well you still need an underdrive pulley - there's a tenth. You also need a set of 4.10s - probably 2 tenths. And you also need a GOOD set of tires (BFGs or preferably ET Streets) - there's another two tenths.

There is more to compare than weather...what altitude is your track..in 70 degrees and wrong bar your effective density alitude could be way higher than your actual..also many other variables..are you powershifting..couple of tenths..are you taking it high enough in rpm..couple of tenths there maybe. Also drag radials might take off more like 6 tenths if you could cut a 1.6 sixty foot..are you on street tires..and if you are you could have wheelspin well beyond the 60ft point which will hurt your et..how much gas..full tank can be a tenth or so..
lots of variables..in cold air if you can hook gain a tenth or more for sure also..

I think your right where you should be. Get some gears , youll be glad you did.My only regret is I ran my 3.42s for two years. IMO, on a 10 bolt I would run 3.73s because of less breakage.

Guys, I do have bfgs and our track is at sea level. I would rather not put gears in the piece of crap ten bolt. I also have a pully to.

i went 12.41@113 with a 1.9 60ft and i have FLPs, lid, FTRA, GMAF and SFCs i was on BFG's. i dyno 353/362 with stock clutch and stock rear. open y pipe no exhaust and my car weighed 3520 with me in it. all cars are different and some react to mods different than others. do you power shift?
