Default Q's on launching et streets w/ 'verter and spray

my mods are in the sig. I am usning the 10.5" x 26" et street.

How long of a burnout do you need to do on these? Just heat them up a little or do i need to make a smoke screen with them?

I wonder this because i could feel them spin easily spraying 75 off the line and stalling it up to about 23-2400rpm, tire pressure was at 16psi. I thought i heated them up pretty good but then only cut a 2.21 60ft <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> wtf? Didnt really want to wait another 2+ hours to make another run so i didnt have another chance to try them out

A friend of mine was using these same exact tires on his truck and cut a 1.99 60ft on his open differential (single cab, 150 off the line, no converter, didnt even really do a burnout)

any suggestions?

TIA,
Bryan

My recommendations are to go around the water and back up just enough to touch the water. Spin them just a round or two and roll out 3 ft. Spin the tires up to 5-6 K until you get good smoke off of them and ease off the brake and let them spin to the tree without going past the lights of course. I stall my Yank ST3500 up to 3000 rpm and stomp it off the line and pull 1.48-1.49 60 fts. It is really going to depend on the track prep. I would set the tires to 14psi. If that doesn't work get ET drags or use a window switch to set the spray to activate at a higher rpm , allowing you to get off the line before engaging. Good luck!!

I have a Vig3200 and am spraying 125 shot off the line w/ a window switch hitting at 3000 RPM. I pull consistant low 1.6x 60's w/ ET Streets.

What I do, is go around the water box then back up into it and then pull forward out of a a couple feet. Then roast them for at least 10 seconds at 5k rpm. Then slowly let off the brake and spin out up to the line so you get any water off and you can feel them hook. I only stall my up to 1300 RPM. I totally let off the brake then mash it to the floor, the nitrous kicks on instantly and I'm off. With no nitrous I pull consistant low 1.7X 60' with the same technique. If I stall it up any higher I spin the tires. Plus, I don't think you get as good of flash out of the converter when you stall it up past 2k. I'm no expert though. Hope this helps.

I agree with those points. From what I've seen , the Yanks like to be stalled as high as possible and the Vigs like to be flashed, but I would try both ways and see.

thanks for the replies guys. I kinda new the yanks liked to be stalled up high so i tried that to a certain extent, and i have a window switch but was hoping it would mainly be used for top end and the et streets could hold the spray off the line. I kinda have a hard time believing that i'm pushing the ammount of power/torque needed to spin et streets though, so i need to get out there again sometime. gonna be sure they are smoking this time for sure

Here's a link to one of my passes. Shows how long I heated them up on a 40 degree day. This is a 1.61 60'.
