Default Hittin 3rd..........Evervy time

I have a M6 with a Hurst and I want to know some tips or bolt ons to help me hit 3rd gear every time. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Practice, practice, practice. I for one don't get a death grip on the shifter. I don't even really grip the shifter at all. I just push forward rather fast and firmly. Is your Hurst the stock one. If so you may want to look into an aftermarket one. I have the Hurst B/P with Lou's short stick and I love it. Good luck and did I mention practice.

I also heard if I get a polly trans mount this would help me also. I also agree with you, prtactice is the key. Also a after market shifter sounds god to me . What is your opinion on the trans mount? I was told that when you let off the throttel to shift your trans is torqued over and we are throwing the shifter where 3rd is usually at and we are missing it because the trans is torqued over. Please tell me if this makes sense to you. I noticed if I try to throw it in 5th while speed shifting I will hit 3rd.

I have personally never heard that your tranny is torqued to the side when you let off to shift. I would think that it would be the opposite. When you let off, the motor and trans would be where they are at idle I would think. As with all good shifters they are spring loaded to assist you with the exchange from 2nd to 3rd. All you really need to do is press forward. The tension from the springs will guide the shifter to the middle and line up with third gear. Good luck.

Try coordinating your left foot with your right hand.... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />
