Default Launch advice

Hi guys,I've recently installed a NOS 5177 kit.
I plan to race (heads -up)on Sunday and would like a few pointers. I plan on using BFG 255/60/16 DR's @ about 17psi. We don't have real track with traction prep, etc but I'm thinking of using VHT Track Bite. Should I just put some down and slowly spin the tires to coat them or should a "strip" be layed out? Also, do DR's need to be burnt out aggressively or just a few spins to clean off. I want to hook n/a and program n2o over 3-4 secs with dual 0.38 jets
Any suggestions welcomed. Many thanks.

I don't think that I can answer your questions because I only race at the track.

But, Good luck to ya.

I don't know either. Bring a gallon jug of water, throw it down. Spin the tires for 5 secs in the water. Then roll forward and spin once more for 1 second to shake the water. Launch.

LMFAO, drive to Florida
I'm in the Cayman Islands where the population is so small (appx 40,000), no one has yet invested in a real race track. We race on a "road" that has been surfaced with cement (launch area)..the authorities allow this..it is not really street racing
Hopefully we will soon have a track(there is talk)but in the meantime I need a little advise to work best with what we have now
Thanks guys.

hehe drop them down to 10-12 psi, do a nice long burnout then pull forward a little bit, lay down the track bite, and just do a burnout in the vht track bite for a little bit, and ride it out till you hear the tires grabbing....

launch at 4500 to start off with, and if it holds, then launch higher, if not then adjust your launch...

That would be a complete waste of 4 seconds or so. And 1 second out of the water isn't going to cut it. I'm not saying you're stupid or something, I'm just wanting to know where you got that method from. The water is simply to help you start spinning the tires when you start to burn out. All you need to do is spin the tires over a time or two in the water to make sure there's water all around them, then pull OUT of the water for the rest of your burnout. To better advise you, bigoneZ28, on how long to burn out, I need to know how old the DR's are and how good the surface you'll be racing on is. As far as the VHT, I've never been able to make that work on the street. I would say, if you have enough of it, to spray a pretty good area around where your back tires will be when you line up, and then for several feet out. The surface really needs to be hot for the VHT to stick. I think that's the problem we had. We were spraying it on cold asphalt, and when we launched, we might as well have been on ice.
