Default removing air bags for drag racing

i am starting to see several of the faster cars at the track removoing there air bags i realize this is weight reduction what about the safty part of it is it safer to run without air bags.What are the pros and cons of it.Thanks guys <img border="0" alt="[driving]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_driving3.gif" />

If you have a 5 point harness then the airbag's not going to help you anyway (you won't reach it.)

Where are you fron in AL and what track(s) do you go to?

Ditto to what Colonel said, plus...

I've personally had a few landings from wheelstands that I think would've possibly caused the air bag(s) to deploy...

thanks guys and colonel i live near tuscaloosa i have met u before at mmp one night when u were trying for 9s i think u ran a 10.04 that night.I usually go to steele, mmp holiday beach and a few others.I just gotta get a new car to race.
