Re: question about battery boxes AFAIK, yes, you still have to have a sealed box.
Maybe one day this rule will be appended since sealed "gel-type" batteries, like the Optima, are becoming more popular. Since there is no way for vapors to be produced, it makes no sense to require a sealed box for these type batteries.
