IMHO, you're better off keeping the 2.73 gears in the car. The 2.73 is the strongest gearset you can get for our inherently weak rear ends, and I doubt you'd see much (if any) true ET improvement (especially with N2O).
OTOH, the 3.42 would give you a noticeable "seat of the pants" improvement, as the car would feel like it's accelerating quicker.
Unless you're willing to go to either a 3.73 or 4.10 ratio, I just don't feel there's much to gain...

Got three new best's over weekend
Finally got the n2o to work with new converter had to put 3800 rpm chip in low side of window switch to get car to hook on street tires. It went 11.85 at 114 mph on a 100 shot both new best's at Hallsville raceway. Then on sunday at my home track of Prescott raceway It pulled a 1.70 60ft on the kumho's. Still can't make my mind up to change 2.73 gears for some 3.42's.
