Default What best T56 for racing with a 4800-5000 rpm torque peak motor?

Looking at the 2.66 geared fbody ratios and the Z06 stuff. Shifts fall back to roughly 4550/4750/5100 on the first, and 4750 or so almost every gear on the Z06 trans given a 6800 rpm shift point. Does this math add up I did a quickie

Which do you think would be best? I personally dont like how far the fbody gearset falls back from 1st to 2nd. Being as you cant mix and match/swap any ratio with any ratio, does anyone think theres an improvement with the 2.97 first gear trans?

One thing I was thinking about, is the fbody trans dropping back less as rpm increases, it would about even out due to tire growth with an ET drag tire probably end up 4800 at the last shift

i was told by Shaun/valvgod that the vette gearsets wont fit in the fbody case... but since the GTO run them, would they fit in an Fbody case?

Call D&D Performance and ask them. They know everything about a t-56. And they know how to build them to hold.

Many people critique the 3-4 shift in the Z06.

Go here. It will let you play around with your heart's content to see what your different gear ratios would yield.

I think the Z06 first gear would be great in an f-body.
