2005 6.0-liter aluminum V8 rated at 390 advertised* flywheel horsepower and 405* pound-feet of torque.
"The 2005 SSR does the same 0-60 in a quick 5.5 seconds, quicker than the SRT-4, Audi TT, or Cobalt SS, making it a terribly fun car that's much easier to drive than a Camaro SS, Viper". . . . .blah blah blah . . .(speculation by an online car testing site)
They don't actually say that they tested it themselves, and GM doesn't talk about it.

Below is another quote from an online website (probably paid off by GM to say this)
"The host of "Tool Time" would grunt about the 30 percent more horsepower and 22 percent added torque that the '05 SSR picks up from the Corvette-sourced LS2 6.0-liter V-8. With the new Tremec six-speed manual 'box, the 4760-lb SSR will blast to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds and through the quarter in the 13.8s, more than two seconds faster than the '03-'04 models. The new four-speed automatic is about two-tenths slower than the stick, but still gives the acceleration you'd expect from a "Super Sport Roadster." We'd be pretty pissed if we had an '03 or '04 model, however, because the '05 price increased by less than $500, and you'd have a hard time selling an underpowered, used SSR with such a surplus of the fast ones dormant on dealer lots."
IMHO, the 2005 is still a pig and even with 90 more *advertised HP, it probably won't come close to the 13's in the quarter mile, and IMHO would probably struggle to hit a high fourteen second 1/4 mile. 0-60 in 5.3 seconds? Uhhh. . . I don't think so . . . if I had to guess, I would be generous and say it will do it in just over six seconds at sea level with a pro driving.
GM is not talking about the accelleration numbers in any advertisments that I can find. (ashamed of the heavy pig I would assume)
Cute truck, but SLOW . . .
