In the staging lanes, reduce the actual psi to 10-12 percent below the recommended cold pressure.
For example, my cold recommended psi is 30. So in the lanes I drop is to 26-27 actual.
The lower psi allows the sidewall a little more flex, which helps absorb the shock of launch and the shifts.
You need to be careful to not drop the psi to a point where the tread will begin to cup. You can find that point in a parking lot by dropping the psi and laying rubber. Check the rubber laid for density side to side. If it starts to get light in the center, the psi is too low. Add one psi and repeat.
