Question Stupid Weld Prostar Question

Yes, this could possibly be the dumbest question in LS1tech history.

My Draglites are dual bolt pattern, so I understand why the use of washers is necessary.

I'm in the process of ordering Prostars and I'd like some new lug nuts, as well. My reseach tells me that I need 20 McGard MCG-63016. As you can see - they come with washers. My question is why? Prostars are not dual bolt pattern.

I recognize the need for shank style lug nuts. But why the washers?

So you dont tear the crap out of the soft aluminum wheels with a hex headed nut when you tighten them. The holes on the prostars and draglites are exactly the same, just draglites have two sets of holes..

^^^what he said ^^^

i have seen draglites and prostars that people didn't run the washers with and the wheel was worn into pretty bad behind the lugnut.

My prostars are torn up even with the washers but not that bad. Compared to brand new ones, it is kind of bad but not as bad as not having washers sounds.

if its tearing them up like that with the washers its probably from over torqueing the lug nuts. weld only reccomends like 80-90ft. lbs for them

just my $.02
