Default rear axle bump stops?

ok, quick rundown:
bogart 15"X10" D-10's w/ M/T 28X12.5's, Strange Drag Shocks, BMR -1" springs.

as i was installing the new shocks, i noticed the bump stops were tattered and when i messed w/ the pass. side, it fell apart. my question is, do i really need these, or is it ok to just remove them?

people will tell you that you need them but eh...Don't drive like a maniac and you'll be fine. I aggressively drive my car with that whole area cut out and have no problems. Street rubber or race rubber.. makes no difference.

You really don't need them. But if you are really worried get the ones that go around the shock shaft. They look like foam rubber tube like by Koni.
