Default Storing drag slicks away?

What is the best way to preserve drag slicks or racing tires when not in use?

Just lay them on their sides out of the weather!

Oh crap, I was supposed to keep them on thier side??? I left then standing upright in corner of my shop, actually it is a warm, dry, partially finished basement shop I have. I guess when I get home later I should lay them on thier side, but to save room can I stack them?

.

I keep my mounted slicks on side, extra pressure,
unmounted same, but only 4 high,
my shop is kept at 40 when not there.
I clean them up before storing, warm water, dish soap.

I emailed Micky Thompson and asked how to store racing tires and here is their response.

Sir,
To store your tires you want to take them off the vehicle, deflate the tires, and make sure they are not stored in any extreme hot or cold temperatures. Ex: Store in basement.

mine have been off my car, left with about 12 lbs of air in them , laying on their side in my garage. it' does get damn cold out there. Not that it matters, as they are getting replaced with new ones before I run the car again anyway.
