Default drag racing coil-spring question

I am looking to get into the 11s/10s with a new setup that I'll be building over the next year or two. I am needing new shocks/struts now (still have the factory ones on after 150k miles), but was considering replacing the coil springs all the way around as well. My questions are: a) will I need to replace the springs, or are they ok to use still for a few more years. and b) If I got new springs, would I benefit more from purchasing the Eibach Drag-Launch setup or just a set of replacement-style springs from Advance Auto Parts or the like. I am not wanting to drop ~$700 on a full HAL/QA1 setup, and the car will see a lot of street time as well. Just wanting something comfortable somewhat, low in cost, and that will help my new setup get good weight transfer.

Thanks for the help.

Even though they have a lot of miles on them getting any type of drag spring kit will be better. Your front spring rates (drag kit) should be around 175lbs. Stock rear springs are quite stiff which some keep them but if you are going to buy new fronts might as well get the whole kit and replace all 4. If you are on a budget you can get an airbag and put it in the pass side rear. When money permits get an anti roll bar installed. Also get some good drag racing struts like Lakewood 90/10 or QA1 adjustables (again on a budget the non adjustable lakewoods are cheaper).

But would a drag spring setup (such as the Eibach) be too much for a street car while doing normal driving? (as in the car rocking too much over speed bumps or going over pot holes)

No, its not as bad as everyone thinks. I drove around for 4-5 years with skinnies, 90/10's, eibach drag springs, and no front sway bar. Car rode fine...straight. I just couldnt take a corner hard or an exit ramp at 90 mph. But when I had my normal size tires on the front with everything else above WITH the sway bar on it was barely noticeable. -Mark

do the eibachs or qa1's up front, but dont run the eibachs out back.
too stiff and it jacks the back of the car up like a 4x4 in most cases.
i run stock springs in the rear myself.

And worse than that LS1 f-bodies don't have front struts.
