Default Help With Slicks

I was wondering if I could mount a 28x10x16 Hoosier slick on a 8 inch wide wheel. The catalog I'm looking at says I need a 10 inch rim ,but I thought maybe someone had seen otherwise.

.

ran 29x10x15 on a 8" wheel for a couple of years, switched to 10" and it hooked better. It will work, just not as well. The old rule is +/- 1 inch, but plenty of people run +/- 2". Good luck.
