Hmm my 99 Tahoe 5.7 ran 16.3@83mph with a dying trans, I have since done some mods and fixed the trans and hope for mid to low 15's.

15's is a great time for a Tahoe...my race weight was around 5400 lbs...had a passenger and 120#'s of coal mining stuff...don't forget Bristol AD..most guys add 0.60 when they come here to race....remember the GM Hightech shootout? We had a Lightning running high 14's last night.....I've got mod fever now to get past the last 5 ricers...what did you do to your's PSJ????

Mine is a 99 5.7 2wd, raceweight is around 5200.

Since my 16.3, I rebuilt the trans, installed a used dynomax catback, and a UPD airbox and filter. The airbox and filter have helped with the midrange and topend but not off the line. The catback helped down low...

I'm running with 3.08 gears now but I'm tempted to do 4.10's since the rear is howling.

There's a guyi the truck section with a new HOE who's gone 13.2 with a blower, headers and some other stuff...

Was that on Tuesday, Tom? I went on Thursday night, but it was cancelled. Why didn't you bring the Firehawk?

It was on Tuesday Night. Since they are doing it two nights a week I thought (wrongly so) that Tuesday would not be crowded. If you hot lapped you could get a run every 45 min to 1 hour...about 300 cars. I'm not going to run the Hawk until I get it ready for the brackets....with an auto,,, may have to wait until I retire...lol...Let me know if you go next week....I'm going to go back...

I plan on going Tuesday and Thursday, weather permitting. Let me know when you are going and how the weather looks over there- I was totally bummed out to waste a three hour round trip for nothing on Thursday night. Adam has his car back together with the rebuilt rearend and the Hooker LT's...he said he was planning on going to Bristol next Tuesday or Thursday.
