Default Anyone built their Own Core support

The car I am building was hiding a little secret under the fender and bumper. It looks like the core support was hit pretty hard before and they did there best to straighten it out. I am considering cutting it out and building a tubular one. I would like to see pics if others have done this. I have seen some that have the center cut out but I am talking about building the whole thing

Thanks

Can't see why its any harder than a cage. Get some 1 1/2" CM tubing maybe 1" and bend it to shape. Maybe use some 1/8" plates to bolt it to the frame rails making it removeable or weld.

if it's that bad off, you may want to take it to a frame shop to see it's it's still straight before you build something you may have to tear out.

It is straight. I made a bunch of different measurements to make sure its square. I am going to use 1 1/2 .083" chromoly but I just wanted to see how others have done it. I was debating on doing the two side with a removable center or just do one bent bar across.

I used 1-1/4 X .095 chromemolly on a couple of cars I did.. One of the cars was Fireball's Turbo car.. You might be able to see some pics from what he has posted

Found the same thing right after I purchased my car. Had to cut everything out and build one. I use 1 1/4 moly tubing and 1/8 plates, everything can be removed pretty easy. These are the best pics I have.

Thanks. I see allot of people have cut out the center. I am wanting to see if they have gone all the way to the side. Removing the area behind the headligh
