First time out on Drag Radials Jan 5 08 - TIPS?
I've raced on street tires before but never with drag radials.
Just picked up a set of 285/35-18 Nitto Drag Radials. Any suggestions on air pressure? What should I try to avoid doing so I don't snap a half shaft?

Tire pressure = 18-22psi depending on the temp at the time. That will be pressure AFTER you heat em' up. I always used to got with 16psi cold and end up with 18psi hot.
With nitto's you will need a GOOD burnout to get em up to temp. They like to be hot. I'd suggest a good 5-7 second burn. If it's colder go as long as 10secs lol.
With the power you are putting out you shouldn't have to worry too much about breaking them.
Oh important addition- NO MATTER WHAT YOU HEAR ON THE STREETS, NEVER GO LESS THAN 15PSI HOT. There is no point to it and it is dangerous. There are alot of idiot people out there that thing DR's are slicks and can be run that low. They are wrong, trust me, I've seen scary **** happen to cars thinking they can run minimum pressure on a DR.
