How do you remove automatic shifter and console?

How do you remove automatic shifter and console? The shifter wont move because the tranny is out and gone and i dont know how to get the shift **** off. Any ideas besides using a saw would be great.

Re: How do you remove automatic shifter and console? there is a clip in the shifter ****, and take the console out, th en the shifter is held in by 4 screws, unplug everything and it should come right out

Re: How do you remove automatic shifter and console? How do you get the clip. Is it between the button and the leather shift **** wrap. Do you just stick a screw driver down there or what.

Re: How do you remove automatic shifter and console? the clip is on the front side of the handle. run you fingers down the stiches and you will feel it. just stick a small flatblade in it and pry it out. looks like a big staple. then just pull the handle up and off. the rest is easy
