Comparison of TSP 228R cams LS1 vs LQ9, Abs STIIvsSDPCLS6,YankvsVig,DualsvsMufflex
Saturday at Dyno day I had a unique opportunity to look at an LS1 powered car with similar mods as mine.. I know they aren't the exact same mods, but interesting nonetheless..
Please post up your thoughts.. I was told 5-6 months ago I would gain nothing from going with the LQ9 6.0 over the LS1 by several members..
Here were our best uncorrected head to head numbers..
- I have an 2002 LQ9 in my '99 Z28 with the following mods: TSP 228Rcam/BPR LS6 heads 2.00/1.55/LS6 Intake/Shaner2TB/Asp Crank Pulley/SLP smooth bellow/Comp timing set/Comp R Lifters/MTI 7.4 pushrods/Comp 918 springs and 772 retainers/Whisper lid and K&N/1 7/8" Thunder Racing Headers/4"Mufflex/Vig3200/3.73s/Rock On BUILT 4L60E/Global West SFC, PHR, LCA/Spohn Relocation Brackets/SLP Eibachs/Mac Rear Girdle
- His 2000 LS1 had the following mods: Absolute Speed StageII 5.3L's, TSP Custom Comp Cam - 228R, Manley Pushrods, LS6 Intake,ASP Und Pulley, Whisper Lid, K&N, NGK TR-55's, Taylor Wires, Hypertech 160* T-stat, Hooker LT's with Dr. Gas X-Pipe through Bullets, , Race Prepped 4L60E (Mike's Trick Shift) with Vacuum Modulator, B&M Tranny Cooler, Yank PT4000 TC, 3.73 Gears
