You have seen a bolt on car at 3800lbs run 115 mph? In 100% humidity?

Dont exceptional bolt on cars make 350 ish to the wheels?

Something about that doesn't add up.

I think my MPH is pretty good for 375 to the wheels and 3800lbs.

EDIT

Guess I need to get the 85MM MAF, a 3 inch catback, A better Y pipe, ported throttlebody and see what it does.

i have only seen one car trap more than 115 at full weight with bolt-ons. he had a lid, mac mids, cutout, 410s, and DRs. the car was legit. nothing removed, no tricks, it was a real "factory freak". i watched the car go from dead stock to a mild bolt-on car, it picked up stupid gains with little mods. trapped 106ish bone stock. 108 with a lid/cutout. 112 with mac mids and 114+ with 410s. stock tune even.

op: i am interested in an ls6 setup simply due to the driveability and reliability. i drive this car A LOT and really don't want to deal with a monster cam and driveability issues just to trap 118 or so. i think an ls6 cam with a ported/port matched vic jr setup would do well. we will see. i want to do something different.

i love my ls6 in my car. it drives just like stock and has been great it put down 370whp with the mods insig on a mustang dyno with an unlocked converter. I have no doubt through a 6 speed it would be knocking on 400whp which is on par for some z06's and what other m6 fbods seem to do. the ls6 is a little lazier down low than an ls1 due to the cam and heads but above 3500 it pulls HARD. I didnt really notice it until I jumped in my buddies bolt on ls1 last week and the car just felt sluggish when i would get on it but down low it def had a little more torque

Your car definitely has potential for 400rwhp with a better flowing catback. At those power levels the stock muffler is easily robbing 20rwhp. Throw a cheap cutout on it for the time being and try again.

Don't kid yourself on the MAF/TB. Gains made with larger MAF / TB's on a stock LS6 are negligible. A stock MAF with a well ported stock TB is not going to be a hindrance with a stock LS6 intake with those mods. You will see a few hp with larger stuff, but it will not warrant the cost. Anybody that thinks so reads the internet way too much.

Spend your money on the exhaust system and I think you'll be very happy with the results.
