Exclamation dynoed the fireturd

went to Complete Street Performance in west chester, pa. great turn out and the place was overrunned with gto's. made 3 runs with tail pipe afr. i'll post the screen print soon but heres the results in SAE:
287whp/314tq
286whp/311tq
289whp/314tq

AFR started out at 12.8 then top of around 6000 it went to 13.2....timing was at 28*. dynoed in 3rd and this was auto 4l60e. before the runs i guessed 290whp and i was in the ballpark as much as i didnt want to believe(wanted to break 300whp). car mods is LID(no smooth bellow), tune via hp tuner and has a flowmaster catback. thats it. what do 98-00 auto ls1s run stock at the wheels?

the shop uses dynojet fwiw. my brother dynoed 347-350whp last year at another shop in his 01 ws6 a4. all he has is headers, lid, cutout on stock tune. i got an LS6 intake manifold and headers sitting in the garage ready to go on the car this summer. will those mods bring the hp number up to 330whp at most?

Hmm, that sounds about right to me, most stock LS1's that I've seen will dyno anywhere from about 285-310rwhp or so depending on the transmission, I wouldn't be too bothered by it. That sounds right on point to me.

Also, yes, if you get the LT's on the car, the LS6 and a tune, you should definitely see a pretty decent increase in power.

That blowmaster exhaust is killing you!! Get a cutout in the intermediate pipe just before it goes over the axle...there is a nice spot under the rear seat in the floor just perfect for a cutout. That get you several more ponies over that chokemaster catback.

I'm sure it's better than stock, but yes, people on here have claimed time and time again that Flowmasters on these cars don't flow as well as the other catbacks that are available, I don't really know if there is any truth to that though. I mean, I really don't think your numbers are even that bad for a stock car.

It has been proven over and over and over...the flowmaster crossflow 80 series fbody muffler is absolute and complete ****! Some have even shown it to be worse than a stock muffler!!

hmm ok. well i think i have a spare cutout that i'll plan to weld on to the exhaust before the muffler. i like the sound of the muffler, but dont get me wrong, i'm all for freeing up as much hp as the next person :-) the cutout will suffice until i may replace the muffler with possibly a straight pipe-drone and rasp and all haha
