Talking fm13 cam only dyno tune!!!!

Futral Motorsports FM13 cam
Installed by Me.
Tuned by Matt @ TTP Performance.

BLUE - Best: 414HP 399 ft-lbs
RED - Untuned Baseline: 388HP 375 ft-lbs
GREEN - Full Bolt On : 360HP 376 ft-lbs

Actually ended up pulling 401 ft-lbs on the next to the last run but the A/F gave a really funny lean reading 13.4-13.5 and the next pull (with nothing changing) showed a more acurate reading A/F. A/F was kept right around 13.0-13.2

Mods include:
-BG RAM Air, TSP Lid, 3x4 Fernco, Jantzer TB
-FM13 112+4, PRC double springs, Rollmaster double roller
-ASP pulley, !AIR, !Cats
-Kooks headers with 304 SS Custom duals
-BMR STB, UMI SFCs, Lakewood DSL
-Badz ALCAs & APHB
-Iridium NGKs & Taylor 10.4 Thundervolts

Pulls were made to 6800 but for some reason my viewer doesn't show it. I still only made the peak right around 6200. I can see it if I zoom in on my graphs which is the last point I have on the graph. We saw the whole stretch at TTP.

A you can see, untuned, I reallly lost power down low and only seemed to break away at 5K to gain 28HP up top & no extra TQ. However, after the tune, Matt got another 26HP & ~25FT-LBS. Total was 54 HP and ~25FT-LBS of TQ I think that’s pretty damn good from a cam swap. What I find really awesome is that the I preserved low end TQ and at 3K it starts to take off. In some places, like @ 3.5K, I have 20 ft-lbs more than I did with full bolt ons. I would like to have the 2.5-3K matched up to my previous numbers but it is so close so I am extremely happy. I believe the idle is set at 900 and the timing is at 28.

Punched in 2nd on the highway and lost traction real quick Now I want more power. It's like an addiction. I chalk it up as a learning experience. Enjoy

Yup....there was traffic coming home so I was only going about 60 mph and 6th was a little down on power (~1300RPM maybe) so i put it in 5th. i can chug along in 6th had i been doing my normal 70-75 mph. Very drivabe. Just basically needed idle and WOT with the tune.

Very awsome numbers!! Roughly a 80whp gain at redline(or your old factory redline anyway)

Mine too. Never wanted to lose the low end and could never find a before/after to see how much was missing. That is why I save all my dyno files so I can compare. Just goes to show with the right cam and a good tune you can regain some of that low end. I'll try to get the Lid&cutout graph up for a comparison because I find it awesome that I gained 100HP since roughly last year, LOL. Also, just for ***** and grins, the uncorrected number were 439HP & 423ft-lbs. Nice to know that was actually what I was putting down since it was so cold.

Not gonna lie, gears would help. This in on stock gears so you have to find the sweet spot in the upper 1Ks. Driving in 6th at 1300 is possible but you can just feel that you are lugging the engine, so I put it in 5th and had the engine @ 2K.

Yeah, the torque is broader and really carries itself over the bolt-on in the upper band.

Thanks guys/gals.

Very nice. The more ifo I see on this cam the more I'm really set on getting it. I do have an A4, so tunning is a must. How is the idle sounding? A little burbble or a stronger lope?

A little burbble. At stock idle (850 i think) it was a tad bit lopier. I would have liked to keep it there but i guess we had to raise it. Still is too tame for my taste. I need something that shakes the house when I fire it up. Might change the mufflers but I don't want to gain drone inside the cabin. Right now I can't hear anything inside and I'm like "what are all these people talking about dumps being too loud and annoying" It's like soon as you shut the door, "is the car on?" . Slight axaggeration, but you get the idea. I was just outside shoveling snow with my pop and we were having a normal volume conversional right next to the rear of the car with it idling. I can probably tell people it's stock, LOL. Well, it makes the power so I can't complain. Next up: 90/90 setup followed by AFR 225 62cc's.

I'm interested to see what mine will pick up with the Shaner TB and retune. What do you think your true duals are worth? Great frickin #'s. You doin heads??? What rear end and gears are you running?

Always kicking myself that I didnt dyno before I did the duals so I really can't say. I did, however, cut an extra 10th off my ET with no driving changes (my shitty launching) 13.0 --> 12.9 Then managed to improve launching and continued at chopping down a half second --->12.4. I'd still like to think that they gave me the extra torque to do this. If anything, they look great, sound nice and do not drone at all inside, so I am happy.

Yup, AFR 225. Ideally would like to have them milled for 11.0 compression and have LSX90 (all port matched) w/ a TPIS or new NW Fbod 90 TB. Just have to lean how to check P to V and flycut and then I am all set.
