Stock LS6 heads results inside...
I had been wanting to do this to my car for a while, and finally took the plunge. My mods before the heads were:
TR224 cam (112 lsa)
LS6 intake
Shaner S2 throttle body
Lid
ASP pulley
Jet-Hot LT's (w/ ORY)
SLP D/D catback (no cut-out)
With these mods, I put down 375/369 (rwhp/rwtq). I had also put down 376/376 on a previous dyno with the same mods. This was also using the stock injectors (26.6# I believe), which were at 98% duty cycle. These runs were made in 92.43 degree temps.
Last week, I added a set of untouched LS6 heads with the light weight valves, upgraded to SVO 30# injectors and used stock 6.0L MLS headgaskets. I went to tune my car a while ago and my new numbers are 411/401 (rwhp/rwtq)! These runs were made in 100.9 degree temps and my A/F was ~13. A gain of 35 hp and 25 lb/ft to the wheels. I was told that I would gain 20-25 rwhp, so I'm pretty happy with the results.
Keep in mind, my car had 853 heads on before, which aren't known to be the best flowing. I just wanted to post this for any guys who were curious to know the results of adding stock, untouched LS6 heads to their cammed LS1's. Any feedback is appreciated.
I'd post up the dyno sheet, but haven't scanned it yet. I didn't get a copy of the 411/401 run, but have one that reads 411/396. I'll post it up when I get a chance to scan it.

ninobrn99: What heads (casting #) did you car have prior to the swap? If they were 241's then that would explain why.
Not sure if the #'s were STD or corrected though...

NIce numbers. Now go swap to a TRak cam from Thunder and pick up another 20. J/J Thats a real nice setup and not bad at all for not even touching the heads. Shows how great they really are. Enjoy.

What I dont understand is why you used the 6.0 gaskets? Why not bump the compression and all the while be improving your quench area? There would have been zero PtV issues and I honestly think you left some on the table in terms of power.

98RedZone: I actually bought the heads off a member on the GTO forums. I then bought the stock LS6 valves off a member here. Had I waited an extra two days for Partriot to announce their deal, I would have bought them new and saved a few bucks, but I was eager.
lilbuddy: I'm pretty sure I left more on the table, but I didn't research which gaskets would increase my compression ratio. I guess I got lazy and funds were also diminishing for this little project. Out of curiousity, which gaskets would you have recommended for higher compression and better quench area?
Also, one of the reasons I went with the gaskets is because I didn't ever want to mess with graphite gaskets.

853 heads have the same ports as 241 heads, the only difference between the two was that the older 853 heads were sand cast, while the 241's used the semi permanent mold process. Its true that the 241 were smoother and didnt have the roughness of the sand cast heads, but being that the ports are identical, I cant see it being worth all that much. Now, if you had 806 perimeter bolt heads, those were different ports and didnt flow as well as the later heads, but there were changed way back in 99.
Great gains, though I suspech much of it had to do with a better tune the second time around.
