Default Adding N2O to my SI Car, what'll it run?

Car is a Stock Internal '00 Z28 A4. Almost all bolt ons, just no EWP or UD pulley. 3360 lb race weight with driver. 4000 stall and 3.73 gears.

Previous best is 11.623 @ 114.94 on skinnies/Nittos

Car hooks and pulls great for what it is.

Soon I'll be putting a 75 dry shot on, controlled by a Interface and MicroEdge. I'll be hitting the spray in 2nd gear. I WILL NOT be spraying through the shifts.

I wanted to get you guys opinions on what times/traps I'll get in the following scenarios:

Spraying a 75 shot in 2nd gear on street tires ( car hooks on street tires, in the 1.7x range sometimes ).

Spraying a 75 shot in 2nd gear on MT ET Street 26x11.50x16's.

Spraying a 75 shot out of the hole on the MT ET Streets.

What do you guys think?

seeing how I droped .75 sec and gained 10.2mph on a 100 shot I'd say a 11.1-2@122ish

Anybody think I can hit 10's on a good tire ( Bias Ply ) and a 100 shot starting in 2nd?

10's are doable. 11.20's are more likely though.

Even on a 100 shot with traction? I know I can get 1.4x 60's on Bias Plys spraying out of the hole. I thought 10's were a foregone conclusion considering what I run SI.

You are going to need a tire, I doubt you will hit a 10 on street tires. Spinning will be a issue my friend. Trust me.

10's are never a forgone conclusion until you run the number.
If you can cut a 1.4 60' then you shouldn't have a problem get a 10
second slip.

I'm still going to guess you'll run a 11.20 @ 124mph.

Update:

Went to the track Friday night. The weather was horrible ( 1589 DA ). I normally only bring the car out in 500 DA or below. Also, none of my usual track prep was done, so the car was at least 100 lbs heavier than usual, and was down at least 3mph from the norm.

Here's my best NA run

60 --- 1.885
330 -- 5.268
1/8 -- 8.104 @ 86.83
1/4 -- 12.628 @ 108.74

This was not hooking very well. I could have pulled 1.7x's, but I was trying to get the nitrous to activate, so I wasn't concentrating on my launch. That 1.885 was my 2nd best 60 of the night by a few hundredths.

Here's my best N20 run, this is a 100 shot out of the hole on street tires ( rolling out 30-40 feet then getting on it ).

60 --- 1.914
330 -- 5.055
1/8 -- 7.689 @ 93.95 ( new best 1/8th trap by almost 2 mph )
1/4 -- 11.891 @ 115.39

As you can see, with a similar launch, the 100 shot dropped .737 seconds off my ET, and gained me 6.65 mph.

I think with a sticky tire, I'll get the car into the 10's.

Here's a video of my best run. The funny thing is that the people around the line were talking smack about how the Cobra was going to "wax my ***". He ran a 12.617 @ 107.47 with a 1.786 60'.

Here's the problem...you're going to need roughly 125mph traps to run a 10.90. Honestly, you're nowhere near running a 10 right now. It's not going to be easy like you think.

I still think in good air, they can happen. Will they be difficult? Probably. Is the car "nowhere near" running them? I disagree.

100+ more lbs out, couple little tweaks to everything in good air, a great launch, and 10's will come. Hopefully by the end of the year.

I've seen some of the local LS1 guys run high 10's ( using varied mods ) on a mid 1.4x 60' and as low as 120-121 trap speeds before in good air. That's what I base my assumptions on.

I don't think they'll be "easy", but can I hit them before the end of the year? I think so.

I'll keep this thread posted with the results.

I think you will end up disappointed, but nothing better than to prove us wrong

It's a good feeling, trust me

Yes, Kumho Ecstas at 25 psi. I wasn't giving them all they would take on launch though.

The car has hooked a 1.74 on crappy Sumitumo HTR+'s before.

The car will hook.

Hey, I'm used to it. First it was the people who said I couldn't run 11's period. I did it. Then they said I couldn't run 11's on street tires Stock Internal. I did that. Then it was said I couldn't get on the SI List. I did that, twice!

I'm used to surprising people or proving them wrong. Once I make up my mind to hit a goal, I'll get there.

It's a good feeling, trust me
Oh, I know. It's funny to think that when I started modding this car, I just wanted a reliable mid-12 second daily driver.

Those tires won't hook on the bottle, and if you don't launch on the bottle you won't see 10's

Oh, I know. That's why I was easing out and not flooring it until I was about 30-40 feet out. I knew those street tires would never hook that shot. This track trip was just for testing the system, making sure everything worked.

I'm hoping to pick up a set of MT 26x11.50x16's sometime soon. Gotta get something that will hold, as well as grow enough to not hit the limiter.

We'll see if I can pick some up. I dunno though, my wife and I are trying to get a house, and that takes precedence over racing cars right now.

I might be looking at the beginning of the year, instead of by the end like I hoped.

Year later update ( finally got tires and out to the track ).

Car went 10.949 @ 123.10, so you guys' guesses were pretty close.

This was on a 295/50/16 radial, btw.

Turns out my assumption was right, I just had to wait til I had the cash to prove it.

There's plenty of room left for improvement too. More weight out, skinnies, and better air will net better times.
