Default Bone stock GSXR 600 vs big turbo Grand National - SUNDAY

This is a good friend of mine so as long as the weather is good, this SHOULD be going down this Sunday (results by the afternoon most likely). Quality daytime videos will be posted.

Me - bone stock 2007 GSXR 600. I weigh 155 pounds.

Him - 1986 Grand National, 72mm turbo, put down 510/500 to the wheels on ~26psi and he spikes a little more on the street (27-28 maybe). The previous owner went 10.8 at 124 on only 24psi.

Here's how my buddy ran on the current setup against a H/C LS1 that traps around 120:

Here's how he ran against that same LS1 on a 100 shot (GN gets a slight rolling lead as he's learning how to break boost):

We're probably going to do a few different runs from various rolls and maybe a dig (although I still need to work on my launching if we do the dig runs, so I'll probably get wrecked ). Most likely we'll do at least a 40-50 roll with me in first and a 60-70 roll with me in second.

From a roll, I think you can get him. I'd bet your bike traps higher than 125. Just don't run pass 150 because I wouldn't be surprised if he caught back up to you. From a dig, I'd give you the edge because he runs a 10.8 on the track, he most likely won't hook that well on the street. Prepare to abuse your clutch to no end. Should be a really good race.

IS he on radials or slicks or just street tires?

Keep in mind that 10.8 at 124 was on 24psi. He's hitting 27-28 on the street so chances are he'd trap quite a bit higher than that. Take a good look at how hard he pulls that Z28 in the video on motor (which traps around 120 in mediocre air). I also doubt we'll be taking it past 130 or so, which is about where my bike starts to really slow down. It pulls pretty solid up to around 115-120, then starts to die off because it's just a 600. That said, though, it's not like it's slow at 115-120, the pull just weakens compared to how it pulls in the lower gears.

He's on 28" MT ET Street Radials. If he break boosts from a dig he roasts them, but they hook really well from any roll I've seen. Chances are the two runs we'll definitely do will be a 40-50 start with me in first, then a 60-70 start with me in second. I'm pretty sure he'll want to do a dig run but we'll have to see if we get a good spot to do it. If he hooks, I think I'm in trouble, but last time I saw him from a dig he blew the tires off, which would probably mean game over for him. Even if I bog bad, I take off like a rocket as soon as I hit my powerband around 10,000 RPM and 35 or so mph. It's all about first gear on these 600's.

I'm also going to spend a good chunk of tomorrow afternoon working on my launching some more. You have to bring your A-game when you're running a car like that from a dig.

If he hooks from a dig or any low roll I'm calling your *** toast.

Looks like a delay on this race because he couldn't make it out this morning, but this will be going down for sure in the near future. Like I said, he's a good friend and we both really want to see what happens, so we just need to find the time when we can both make it.

I did get a run in with a pullied GT500 putting down 556rwhp last night, though. Read about it here: https://ls1tech.com/forums/street-ra...-my-600-a.html
