Default Some fun at the strip in the HYUNDAI

I had just taken the GTO to the 1/8th mile strip a few weeks back so last night I decided to take the Hyundai. I went with a group of friends who all have real cars (LS1, LT1, '04 Cobra etc.)

The Sonata is an '06 auto V6. In the fall in 40 degree weather it had run 15.36. Last night obviously it was quite a bit warmer so I was surprised to run a new best of 15.30. Back in the fall the car had ~500 miles on it, now it has 20k on it. (yes we drive a lot) so I guess it opened up a bit.

15.30 @ 92 w/ 2.3 short time....The DA was probably ~ +1500 or so.

Shockingly enough I was the only guy there running an '06 Hyundai 4 door.

Their were a couple '02ish Maximas with www.maxima.org stickers on them. They both had exhaust, not sure what else. The best I saw either run was a 15.1 so I can't complain.

I need to put a shot on this booger and get it into the 14s.

This fockers picks up 20 MPH from 1/8th to the 1/4, it runs decent at speed. It just sucks *** trying to get it going from a standing stop.

Two weeks ago in the GTO I made a slew of passes and never heard an ounce of tire spin and cut countless 2.0s. Last night all the Sonata could do was spinning 2.3s with an occasional wheel hop as well....I'll never understand why people insist FWD is so great for racing, its aweful.

That Hyundai story is great. I would like to see a H/C/I V6 Hyundai with full exhaust and tuning. Sounds like a huge waste of money, but I bet she would go. Can you imagine getting your *** handed to you by a big money Hyundai?? I would have to immediately go into hiding. LOL... Thanks for letting me ramble.

I just tuned a S/C'd tiburon the other day. Had the Aspen S/C kit on it. I believe it made like 280hp or so.
