Default any1 no of a good digital camera to buy?

im going to get my girl a digital camera but i have no clue which 1 to get if any of you guys no of a good one i should pick up that would be great thanks

Depends what she is going to use it or. Just a point and shoot, or a digital SLR? Need some more details.

Have had great luck w/my Sony Cyber-shot....does vids, sound, great point and shoot, large view screen. 2 yrs. and no problems...it's probably obsolete now, though....WJ

Olympus and Nikon make nice small point & shoot cameras with good glass.

i love my olympus 770sw point & shoot. it is waterproof down to 10 meters and shockproof able to withstand a 5 foot fall. it also has a 3x optical zoom and is 7.1 megapixel

Ive always had great luck with the CnnonPowershots. Really easy to use and great pictures.
