Default Need crank reluctor alignment tool in SFL

I have an LY6 crank with a 58x reluctor ring which I need to change over to a 24x reluctor. I have a brand new 24x reluctor already in-hand.

Does anyone know of a place that will rent the Goodson crankshaft reluctor ring alignment tool?

Alternatively, is there a local shop that will do the recluctor ring swap?

Palm Beach or Broward area preferred, but willing to go a little farther if I have to.

have not heard people doing this. but alot of people just buy the converter box.which saves them the trouble of taking the crank out. i will be using the box on my ly6. after i find a new oil pan, and front cover

I had the 24x reluctor put on today. Took them all of 10 minutes to remove the old one and install the new one. They used a torch and the Goodson alignment tool. They also cleaned and polished the crank for good measure.

I chose this over the converter box because the crank was already out, and the converter box is $250 versus the reluctor ring which was $17. Also, less wiring and one less failure point.

What did they charge to do it? I may need to do the oposite 24x to 58x swap, and install a new cam gear (LS6 should be 3 bolt 2x cam) and LS2 front cover, new cam sensor and crank sensor.

Do you need to also change crank snesors from greay to black or vissa versa?

Also does anyone no of a 2x cam sensor on the top back of the motor like the 1x cam sensor?

They rolled the cost into the other work I had done, so not sure of the exact cost.

You do need to swap crank sensors. I think you need grey for 58x, black for 24x.

I have the 58x wheel left over if you want it. I have no use for it.

Update:

Since originally posting, I spun a rod bearing and bought a new crank. Of course the new crank came with the 58x reluctor wheel already installed. So I had to take my old 24x and swap it onto the new crank.

This time around I did it myself. I used a MAPP torch to expand the wheels to remove/install them. I eyeballed the alignment. You just need to align the holes in the wheel which look like this C> with the flexplate/flywheel bolt holes.

I've put over 500 miles on the engine so far and have not even done a crank relearn yet. It's running perfectly.

Just proves you can do it yourself without the special tool.

Here is the 24x installed on the new crank:
