So where are they? I'm toying with the idea of moving and would like to move near a 1/4 mile track.

Thanks!

I just moved to fort myers and I am going to a 1/8 mile strip this friday. Don't know of any 1/4 mile strips around here, as thats all I am used to. never done 1/8 before.

Ick, I couldn't imagine running at an 1/8 mile track. It's like watching half a movie and switching the channel lol

I dont think so. I'm guessing the closest 1/4 mile track to Ft Myers/Naples would be Bradenton?

Bradenton is probably the closest it is about an 1 1/2 to 2 hrs away. Imokolee is probably the closest dragstrip but it is 1/8th mile.

in the south, 1/8th mile tracks are very popular. usually they have the biggest payouts and best competition. besides drag racing is about the launch. the big end is just holding on. heck you can do that on your local highways

but believe me, the ride from fort myers to bradenton if you are serious about drag racing is WELL worth it. its one of th ebest tracks in the country.

I've raced at Moroso in Palm Beach Gardens for the last 5 yrs, and it could be a great track. It's just too inconsistent with track prep to give it's claim of fame like BMP is for it's hooking ability.

There is a reason we rent BMP out every season and take the 3 hr drive over...........I will be there next week with a steel driveshaft this year I'm gonna need it.

I have been to Orlando and haven't been to G'ville. I hope to get up there next month.

But what's been mentioned are the most popular tracks frequented the most by alot of people here.
