Default 5.3 with 241 heads, have questions

First off i pulled my 5.3 heads off and they are pretty damn dirty with carbon and gunk/stuff oil build up etc so they need to be brought to a machine shop to get cleaned, new valve seals etc. SOOOO....

1- spend a few hundred on the stock heads for a shop to go through them and buy a valvetrain?

2- Would i get more power from a set of 241 heads to lower my comp. down to 8.8ish-1 with a pt76?

3- If so i have 2 sets of heads to buy.. one fresh from a shop with stock size stainless valves/seats, 918 springs, bowls have been cleaned up a tad OR a set of 241's with 30k on them with the extreme patriot kit on them for $250? Any real gain from stainless valves with boost?

Hmmm...... I like that patriot springs over 918 on boost. The only gain on the valves will be durablity. Plus lower the compression is good on a boosted motor you can get alittle crazy with that cr and good fuel system

i run 241s on a 4.8 and SCR is about 8.8. ive ran 18psi with 18* timing and no KR. Ive ran 15psi with 18* timing and no meth on 93 octane. I like the 2.0 intake valve in use with boost. I run PRC duals i wouldnt trust 918s for any real boost levels

when doing this use the 5.3HO/5.7 MLS gaskets
