Default f1a/f1c procharger

is a f1a procharger over kill for a stock ls1? I heard a couple and they sound really good but I know I wasn't sure if it would be too much for my needs. My goals are 650 to 700 hp, but it wont happen for a while, I still have my stock bottom end.

What is the difference between f1a and f1c?

The F series of blowers have a 5.40/1 gear reduction, where the P-1SC and D-1SC have a 4.10/1 ratio. What this means is that the F series are going to spin a lot faster with any given blower pulley than a P or D series will. To slow an F-1A down to make a stock shortblock last will require a large 5.25 or larger pulley. For your future horsepower goals the D-1SC will work just fine, and will require less power to turn it than an F-1A.
Take a look at this chart, where you can see that the F-1C blower is larger in diameter, and has a slightly larger inlet opening. http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com....html?item=439 Bob
