Default MAF or SD?

What is the general opinion of when you should ditch the MAF and go Speed Density? Is it a certain psi or what?...

I will be running 6-8psi on a stock long block for a while...is there any reason I should go SD at that minimal boost?...

With my first set up (P1sc@8 psi on a cammed 346) I ran a SD tune. I never ran a MAF sensor when I was F/I so I can not compare but I do know a SD tune is a more involved tune that makes these motors/PCM read boost. Also I'm running 4" piping and the MAF was a big restrictor.

If you max out the maf sensor run speed density.

Even if you're not maxing the maf SD is safer with a turbo setup as it can compensate fueling if you have a boost spike.

SD is nice you have option to have different afr under boost from Na. I am switching over next few days. It don't look that hard to tune for.

I doubt you will max out your MAF at those boost levels, MAF is easier to tune, and can be done very good as long as you arent maxing the MAF sensor out.. After you max it out tho, it becomes a bandaid tune..
