Question Another "Right cam" thread?

Okay so here is the deal, I am about to put 317's on my stock bottom end 346 I have 918's comp 7.425 PR's and a z06 cam.

Right now I plan to forge the bottom end and keep it 346ish around next summer. I want a cam that will make good power and be boost friendly but cams are like tv's once you find the size you want, get one size bigger. I just dont know if I will be happy doing all the work to put in the z06 cam and have none of the cam "side effects" a lope or noticeable idle or anything.

So should I keep the z06 cam that has never been installed or is there a "just as good" or better cam in the 114lsa area that will work now with 500HPish and will work later when I try to go for 800? And also will this other cam work with the springs and PR's I already have?

Thanks for any help, just dont want to be the guy regretting not getting something with a little attitude Ohh and this is NOT a dd.

Max lift for those springs is .600", so be careful when choosing a cam if you're going to keep the springs. I don't care for the 918's on boosted applications, but for low boost, they'll be fine. I highly recommend you measure for the optimum pushrod length with a length checker before simply using those pushrods. I don't have a recommendation on 114lsa cams for boosted applications. I am more of a high LSA & ICL, good idle, great power kinda guy. I'm sure someone can chime in on a good cam based on your circumstances.

Thanks for the input and just an update when I bought the springs I was told they were 921's but I cant prove it so I am staying safe and saying they are 918's
